Menopause Roundtable
Wednesday, Oct. 14
6:30–8 p.m. | Doors open at 6 p.m.
Del Valle Theater
1963 Tice Valley Blvd., Walnut Creek

Dear Neighbor,

Menopause used to be something we didn't talk about. Now it's front and center in California's state budget.

Here's why that matters. Nearly three in four women aren't treating their menopause symptoms, often because they can't find a doctor who gets it or an insurance plan that covers it. I've spent the past several years championing legislation to fix this.

I am excited to announce that we have secured $5 million from the state General Fund for wildfire resilience projects in our community. This is a significant win for a region that ranks among the most wildfire-prone in the Bay Area, and with this, we can act to strengthen wildfire mitigation and preparedness.
Here's where it's going:

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Thank you for your continued interest in my work in Sacramento; your calls and comments are appreciated.

I know that for many families, homeowners’ insurance has become harder to find and afford, with too many families left relying on the FAIR Plan. I also know that affordability issues are top of mind for the vast majority of you. You’re stressed by the seemingly unending utility rate increases, cost of housing, and reliability of the water supply, all at a time when AI is reshaping our economy and lives at a pace that calls for thoughtful oversight.

Dear Friends,

I can’t wait to see you tomorrow for our event, From Aware to Empowered: Navigating the Online World as Women & Girls

April 22, 2026
6–7:30 p.m.
Creekside Commons Main Hall
1035 Carol Lane, Lafayette, CA

Join me for a timely conversation with three outstanding speakers:

Please join me, the California Legislative Women’s Caucus, Lafayette Partners in Education, and Orinda Network for Education for an empowering evening featuring three extraordinary speakers: Sneha Revanur — Stanford student, founder of Encode AI, and named the "Greta Thunberg of AI," Nikki Iyer - UC Berkeley student and Co-Chair of Design It For Us, and Kerry Gallagher — digital wellness expert and educator at ConnectSafely.org.

As you may know from my previous updates, I have been actively working on your behalf to address the homeowners' insurance crisis affecting our community, and I wanted to share an exciting development.

Earlier this month, I introduced AB 2724, a bill aimed at ensuring more of our neighbors can access private homeowners' insurance coverage.

As you may know from several of my previous updates, I have been actively advocating on your behalf regarding the homeowner’s insurance crisis affecting our community.

I am writing to share an important update from an Assembly Insurance oversight hearing held yesterday related to the Department of Insurance regulatory program known as the ‘Sustainable Insurance Strategy’. Yesterday’s hearing provided an opportunity for me to ask Commissioner Lara some key questions and push for the answers and action that Californians deserve.

I know many of you are deeply concerned about the cuts to healthcare coming out of Washington, DC; so am I. It’s no secret that the “Big Ugly Bill” will lead to less care right here in AD16. We are hearing from our own hospitals and safety net clinics that they will not be able to keep their doors open if nothing changes.
